FILIPINO fighter Denice Zamboanga’s title bid got delayed anew as Thai defending Atomweight MMA World champ Stamp Fairtex withdrew from their ONE 167 title fight due to a torn meniscus.
Zamboanga and Fairtex were supposed to fight on June 8 at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand.

Fairtex incurred the aforementioned injury during her training as she twisted her knee and landed awkwardly.
“I’m sorry that I didn’t get on stage for everyone to cheer on. I worked hard, and I was very focused for this fight. [But] accidents can happen all the time,” said Stamp in a statement.
“I promise that I’ll do my best [in] therapy, and I’ll come back the best as well,” added the 26-year-old, who sports an 11-2 win-loss slate, riding on a three-fight win streak.
The 27-year-old Zamboanga, on the other hand, holds a 10-2 record and is on a two-fight win streak.
This is the second time that Zamboanga and Fairtex’s fight got canceled.
They were supposed to clash at ONE 166 in Qatar but the bout was rescheduled to June, so they can reportedly take part at the start of an original docuseries production.
Despite the changes, ONE 167 remains stacked with Tawanchai PK. Saenchai defending his ONE Featherweight Muay Thai World Title against “Smokin” Jo Nattuwut, as well as the kickboxing return of ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Champion Rodtang Jitmuangnon as he takes on the dangerous Denis Puric.
